Hi.
My name is Rich and I am a stay at home dad (SAHD).
I am married and have four boys ages 8, 6, 4, and 3 (best not to do the math). I started this blog as a way to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of being a father, and to stop myself from going insane.
My typical day consists of coffee, stuffing breakfast into my boys’ mouths, getting them ready for school, some voice-raising, breaking up silly quarrels, more coffee, laundry, more food to the kids, and cleaning up just about everything imaginable. In the midst of all this I try to get some time alone with my wife or with just a beer. If I’m lucky I get both. I’m not a perfect father or husband and like other men with unhealed wounds, I tend to get pretty dang grumpy if these wounds are not dealt with in a healthy manner. Besides, open wounds are nasty, am I right? I want to write about my experiences as a way to reach out to other men struggling with the same issues and hopefully offer some sort of comfort knowing they aren’t alone. I do not have all the answers but I have found healing through a close devotion to Christ and His Church. I have also found that going to the gun range is very soothing as well. There’s just something about gun smoke in the morning that lifts the spirits.
Hopefully what you read in here will inspire you to become a better man and give you the courage to overcome the demons that hold you back from becoming the man God created you to be.
God Bless!
